November is the month that we, as a Church,
remember and pray for all of the faithful departed.
The Book of Remembrance has been placed in the
back of the church for you to inscribe the names of
your deceased family and friends to be prayed for
throughout the month.
For the past 14+ years, Jackie Edrington has
coordinated our Blanket Ministry. Primarily an
outreach ministry of consolation and prayer, our
Blanket Ministry also served an important need in the
early days of the Covid shut down making masks and
gowns for health care professions in our area.
Jacke recently decided to step down as coordinator,
though will remain involved in the ministry. Thank you,
Jackie, for your years of dedicated service!
Please join me in welcoming Susan Treuting as the new
coordinator of the Blank Ministry.
The Mass Intention Book will open on November
3rd for all intentions to be accepted throughout
2026. Mass requests will be honored on a firstcome,
first-serve basis in the order in which the
request is received at the parish office. No Mass
request will be taken over the telephone. Mass
request must be made in person in the parish
office, or in writing and placed in the collection
basket or mailed to the office. Forms for
requesting a Mass can be obtained from the parish
office, in the back of the church, or available online
on the parish website.
Saturday, November 1st is the Solemnity of All Saints
and is NOT a Holy Day of Obligation. We will have Mass
at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, November 2nd is the
Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed (All Souls).
We will have a special Mass to pray for all the faithful
departed, especially all the members of the parish who have
died during the past year at the 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Next weekend (October 18/19) is designated
World Mission Sunday. Through mission efforts,
World Missions encounters various groups of
people and communities in need of your help.
Without the faith and generosity of donors, that
help would not be possible. Please show your
support and as always, we thank you for your
generosity.
Mark your calendars for our Parish Picnic on
Sunday, October 19th after the 10:30 Mass and stay
to join our Knights of Columbus Council in
welcoming the Silver Rose to the Archdiocese of
New Orleans at 1 p.m. as we have a brief prayer
service to pray for a civilization of love and culture
of life in our own country and throughout the world.
The St. Benedict Ladies Altar Society will be hosting a spaghetti dinner on
Saturday, October 18th. Drive through pick up from 11:00 a.m.-to 1:00 p.m.
There are a limited number of tickets and they will be on sale at all Masses the weekend of October 4th & 5th and the weekend of October 11th & 12th.
There is a $10.00 donation per dinner.
